Unlike many artists, I actually LOVE doing commissions (commissions = art created on behalf of someone else, or "on order").
I enjoy commissions because they give me a chance to help someone bring their vision or idea to life. I get to work with an individual to learn exactly what they want, and am then challenged to create what they may not be able to create themselves--a work of art that meets their desires and hopefully, looks better than what they had imagined in their head. It's so fun!
If you're interested in commissioning a painting, an illustration, or working together to design a logo for your brand, blog, or business, read on for details...
BASIC PROCESS FOR COMMISSIONING A PAINTING
Email me to let me know you're interested in doing a commission. In this message, note the following (if you know): approximate size or price range, timeline, vision/subject matter, and medium (watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media?).
I'll get back to you to let you know if your project is doable within your criteria (it almost always is!), and if so, may send over a few more questions.
Once we've finalized all of the details listed above, I'll send you a price estimate and a link to pay your deposit.
Upon receiving your deposit, I'll start your painting or project (yay!).
I'll send pictures of the painting for your review throughout the painting process. I'll ask for your input and am very open to any changes that you'd like made to the final piece.
Once the painting is finished, I'll send you a final image. If you approve, I'll send you your final invoice and ship it out (or we can arrange a drop-off if you're local).
OTHER NOTES/FAQ's
Typical production time: It usually takes me 1-3 months to complete an oil, mixed media, or acrylic painting (depending on the size). Watercolor logos typically take 3-4 weeks, depending on the scope of the project. If you need something rushed, I am happy to turn it around sooner, but will have to charge you extra for the rush production.
Your input is always desired! I love when people send me inspirational images--I've been sent photographs, pinterest inspiration boards, links to online images, and even a powerpoint describing what the person wanted! When you have a clear vision, it makes my job easier. Don't be afraid to share!
Speak up about what you want! I always want everyone to be 100% happy with the final product. Always be honest about what you want, as *almost* everything can be tweaked :)
Payment accepted via Paypal, CC, or check/cash (if local).
I look forward to working with you!
